Living with ADD and ADHD, One Mother's Story

Anyone who has raised a child with ADD or ADHD can tell you that these children are more than "just a little hyper," as some people claim. It is quite obvious that people who make those claims have never experienced these children for themselves. Although it is true that there are children who are misdiagnosed, there are also many children who have a genuine problem that must be treated, not only for the sake of the parents but also for the sake of the children.

Too many people are so afraid of applying a label to their medical condition that they refuse to treat them. Because of this they refuse to provide the help these children need, causing the children to suffer.
